Horror 101 – Episode 76: Videodrome

Horror 101 – Episode 76: Videodrome (1983) – May 31st, 2018

Long live the new Flesh!

For episode 76 the crew each selected a title they wanted to cover and we put it to a vote for our Patrons. Their choice? David Cronenberg’s Videodrome, starring James Woods and Deborah Harry. This is our third time focusing on Cronenberg’s work at the Horror 101 Podcast. Videodrome is a dark and eccentric look at the effects of media on the psyche. When UHF channel 83 station owner Max Renn stumbles upon an ultra-violent pirated satellite video feed he begins a campaign to acquire it for his station. The further he chases down the source, the more his world turns upside down. Join us as we dissect this Canadian horror filled with the bizarre body horror effects Cronenberg is known for, brilliantly displayed by Rick Baker.
